How do I upload my website using cPanel?

The quickest method for most sites is cPanel File Manager.

  1. Log in to cPanel and open Files > File Manager.
  2. Open the document root for the domain. For the primary domain this is commonly public_html; addon domains may use another folder.
  3. Click Upload and upload your ZIP file or individual files.
  4. If you uploaded a ZIP archive, select it and click Extract.
  5. Make sure the home page is named index.html, index.php, or the filename required by your application.
  6. Visit the domain and check the site, links, forms, images, and SSL.

For large or frequent transfers, use the secure method recommended in your welcome email. Do not upload the site into the account home directory unless that is the intended document root.
