Do I need a domain name to use web hosting?

Yes. A domain name is the address visitors use to reach a public website, such as example.com.

If you already own a domain

  1. Keep the domain registered with your current registrar, or transfer it to Intelliwire.
  2. Point the domain to the Intelliwire nameservers listed in our nameserver guide.
  3. Allow DNS changes time to propagate before testing the site and email.

If you are still building

Ask support for the temporary or preview address available for your service. Temporary addresses are for testing only and may not support DNS or email features.

Tip: Do not cancel your old hosting until the new website and email have been tested.
