Are virtual private servers reliable, or can another customer crash my server?

A VPS is isolated from other virtual machines, so another customer normally cannot directly crash your operating system or application. A noisy neighbor or physical-host issue can still affect shared hardware, network paths, or host maintenance.

Reliability also depends on your own software, updates, storage, backups, monitoring, and capacity planning. Use health checks, external monitoring, tested restore procedures, and a documented recovery plan for important services.
